Welcome to
Australia's Biggest Wedding

Since 2023, Australia's Biggest Wedding has set out to raise funds for charities and groups and need.

​

The creation of Australia's Biggest Wedding was built on a simple premise, to create an outlet for couples who may for whatever reason have put their wedding plans on the back burner to make their dream a reality, bring together all of our industry contacts to create an event we're all proud of & feel good about, and raise some much needed funds for those in need.

"We were originally looking at a registry style ceremony when we came across Australia’s Biggest Wedding, and we loved the idea of doing a ceremony a little bit different and raising money for charity in the process. After the success of 2024, we had to do it again!

This started as a dream, but a reality it became!

2024 saw us bring together seven couples, over 200 guests and 16 of Australia's best wedding vendors.

​

This year will be slightly different with couples and celebrants from all over the country being invited to take part.

​

The concept is simple, click on the link below, take your pick of celebrants from wherever is closest to you within the country and sign up.

​

You'll have your pick of either Saturday, 12th or Sunday, 13th July next year and your celebrant's inclusions will be detailed on their profile.

​

Unlike our 2024 event, 2025 will see a focus on elopements as opposed to a traditional ceremony but in doing so we are extending our reach to all of Australia!

​

The cost? You'll pay $350, $300 of this will go to a charity from your choice of either:

​

1. The support of families of unwell children

2. Mental health support

3. Support and protection of animals

​

The remaining $50 will go towards the future of and marketing of Australia's Biggest Wedding.

Australia’s Biggest Wedding – Weekend of 12th and 13th July 2025
 

  1. Concept
    a. The mission of Australia’s Biggest Wedding is to create a unique experience for all members of the community who meet the criteria to get married (pursuant to the Marriage Act 1961) by being gifted services of civil marriage celebrancy, as well as a possibility (but not guarantee) of receiving additional services including but not limited to photography services, and the possibility of being included in a broader wedding video used to promote the event.

b. All services are gifted by wedding vendors who have made themselves available to be part of Australia’s Biggest Wedding, all products and services are gifted on the proviso that couples or individuals booking to utilize the services and be part of Australia’s Biggest Wedding make a minimum donation of $300 (plus a $50 fee to assist in the marketing of the event, for a total of $350) to one of three charitable categories: betterment of care and support for unwell children, animal protection, or mental health.
c. The event is set up to facilitate the marriage of multiple couples across various locations throughout the country based on the availability of celebrants and can be expanded should demand require it.
 

  1. Preparation
    a. Once a booking is made, the event organiser(s) and/or celebrant(s) will periodically provide all relevant details to the selected celebrant as chosen by the couple.
    b. The required information to be entered via the booking platform will consist of the same information required for the notice of intended marriage, which will be provided to the relevant celebrant for production of notice of intended marriage, official certificate of marriage, declaration of no legal impediment to marriage, and form 15 (certificate).
    c. It is then incumbent on the relevant celebrant to ensure completion of the notice of intended marriage and all relevant paperwork including the supply of ‘Happily ever before and after’.
    d. Each celebrant is responsible for the management of their own paperwork to ensure a smooth flow of marriages on the day of the event. Where necessary, an assistant(s) should be utilized for the purpose of checking couples in and keeping marriages to schedule.
     

  2. Components
    a. Each marriage will be allocated a 15-minute (this can vary by celebrant and will be visible by way of booking slots for each celebrant on the booking platform) window based upon the booking time elected.

i. It is a matter of discretion for each celebrant to determine how to handle matters should a couple not arrive/be ready at the selected commencement time.

ii. In the case of non-attendance or change of mind, there is no scope for refund and all funds presented will remain part of the donation (there will be no refund of the marketing fee component either). Services will not be provided at any other time or later date.

b. The amount of guests that can be invited is to be determined by the celebrant in consultation with their venue/chosen location, guest numbers may be restricted to ensure appropriate flow of the day's proceedings and to avoid overwhelming all involved.
c. Couples are entitled to provide their own bouquet/florals at their own expense.

d. The styling of the utilised space is at the discretion of each celebrant/venue and there is not cost allocated to this purpose. There is no scope for additional customized styling of ceremony spaces due to potential time constraints.

e. It is the responsibility of each celebrant to arrange photography whether it be professional, amateur or done by phone. It is expected, but not guaranteed, that each marriage will be photographed, with any professional photographer engaged gifting digital photographs of each marriage to the couple (where applicable).

i. It is at the discretion of each photographer (where applicable) to provide services beyond the ceremony itself while utilizing available locations for a broader range of photographs. Any additional costs incurred by the couple for extra services should be donated to the selected charity category.
ii. By registering to take part in Australia’s Biggest Wedding, all parties present at the event agree to have their photographs used for promotional purposes by (but not limited to) the selected charities, Australia’s Biggest Wedding, the chosen celebrant, and all other service providers involved.

f. By registering to take part in Australia’s Biggest Wedding, in the case of videography services being donated and utilised, all parties present at the event agree to have their videos used for promotional purposes by (but not limited to) the selected charities, Australia’s Biggest Wedding, the chosen celebrant, and all other service providers involved.

 

  1. Ceremony structure as follows:

a. Welcome to the wedding of the couple
b. Acknowledgement of country (celebrant/couple preference)
c. Introduction of celebrant and legal monitum
d. Legal vows
e. Personal vows (up to 90 seconds each)
f. Ring exchange (if applicable)
g. Kiss (if applicable)
h. Signing of documents

 

  1. Booking
    a. All bookings will be made via the designated booking platform.
    b. This document and an agreement will be available on the booking page of the website.
    c. Unless other services are identified, payment systems will be that of either Stripe or PayPal, which will see a loss of some funds to payment service fees, please note that this will be absorbed via the marketing fund and not impact upon donations to charity).
    i. Where possible, this will be avoided.

ii. Finances for this event will be totally transparent and can be made available on request to any party involved in the event. iii. All funds beyond payment service fees will be paid in full to the selected charity.

 

  1. Venue & allocated space
    a. The event is not confined to one location and will have satellite events all over the country based on the availability of celebrants.
    b. All reasonable care will be taken to respect and protect any venues and grounds.
    c. Each celebrant will be responsible for allocating a ceremony space with a signing table and chairs for the couple and guests.
    d. Each celebrant is responsible for the cleanliness of their allocated area, including the collection and disposal of rubbish (if applicable).
     

  2. Execution
    a. Australia’s Biggest Wedding will take place with a schedule determined by the celebrants.
    b. Upon arriving at the venue, the celebrant is to liaise with their relevant photographer(s) if applicable and ensure the schedule is adhered to.
    c. Upon arrival, couples are anticipated to sign in with the celebrant or assistant of the celebrant and be guided to the designated ceremony space.
    d. It is anticipated that each ceremony takes no more than 10 minutes unless otherwise discussed with the celebrant to allow for appropriate time for the reset of the ceremony space between scheduled ceremonies.
    e. During the ceremony, where applicable, it is expected that a photographer photographs the ceremony and, where relevant, can remain with the couple and continue to photograph said couple within the surround area of the ceremony location.
     

  3. Pre-ceremony checks, NOIM, and DONLIM
    a. Further to section 2, each celebrant is required to ensure all paperwork is relevant, legitimate, and correct.
    b. All celebrants are encouraged to bring spare Form 15s, official certificates of marriage, declaration of no legal impediment forms, and blank Commonwealth stat decs.
    c. All celebrants will need to ensure printing or hand writing of all relevant paperwork including the Form 15.

 

  1. Registration of marriage
    a. Following the completion of the event, all marriages will need to be recorded via the relevant Births, Deaths, and Marriages registry.
    b. Once it has been confirmed that all marriages have been registered, a bulk or individual email will be sent to all participants by their celebrant informing them that their marriage has been registered. This email will include details on how to pay for and obtain their certificate from the registry.
    c. Unless otherwise organized, it is not expected that celebrants pay for or facilitate the purchase of certificates directly via the registry.

  3. Terms and conditions
    a. By registering, I/we understand that I/we have elected to be part of ‘Australia’s Biggest Wedding’.
    b. I/we accept that all product and service providers involved with the execution of this event are volunteering their time as well as products and services and do not stand to generate any income or profit from what they are undertaking to do.
    c. I/we understand that all funds paid by me/us to be part of the event go directly to the selected charity outside of any fees attracted by payment services and the designated marketing fund fee which will absorb payment fees to ensure they do not impede upon monies donated to charity.
    d. Where required/sought, all data can be made available as to the funds generated, fees, and donation to the selected charities.
    i. The exception to this is/may be venues who may sell food and drink options as an aside to Australia’s Biggest Wedding.

e. I/we understand that we are allowed a maximum of 10 (ten) guests unless otherwise permitted by the relevant celebrant and/or their chosen venue and accept that I/we as well as my/our guests may be turned away.
i. This limitation is put in place to ensure adequate flow of all persons involved in Australia’s Biggest Wedding and to allow for availability of car parking spaces and venue capacity limits.
f. I/we understand that each marriage is undertaken within a small timeframe and therefore agree to be present at least 15 minutes prior to our booked commencement time.
i. I/we understand that if we are not present by our booked commencement time, any postponement is at the discretion of our celebrant and may result in a cancellation of our booking.
g. I/we acknowledge that all funds paid by us are intended to be donated to the selected charity and therefore I/we acknowledge and accept that there is no scope for refunds, this includes the marketing fee component which is intended to further promote the event and is therefore not refundable.
